Story

Nagnath Par Ganpati Trust, over 125 years old, celebrates at the old Nagnath Par square in Sadashiv Peth. The trust was an early adopter of the elevated ‘hanging mandap’ — engineering its pandal on scaffolding high above the road, often as a replica of one of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s forts, so that regular traffic flows underneath. It is a fixture of the classic old-city darshan circuit between Shanipar and Nimbalkar Talim.
